Mat Todd Point 1 of 2: At the moment I am assuming that I can help by highlighting places where synthetic organic chemistry experiments can be obtained online. If so, we can start a list here:

Open chemical reactions online

Mat Todd Point 2 of 2: I'm also assuming that I can help in some way by talking about ways of depicting chemical reactions in a standard way? Is that correct. i.e. once the information is extracted about chemical reactions, how do you want to display the information, or what do you want to do with it?
Many of Mat's experiments are already semantically abstracted into Reaction Attempts and I'll add the rest of them by the London conf - that means they are substructure searchable or by dropdown menu for reactants or products e.g. select praziquanamine from the Explorer menu
